Giovanni Lanna was born in 1952 in Naples, Italy. In 1963 at age eleven Giovanni, along with his family, moved to Rome. It was Rome that stirred his interest in architecture and Lanna studied architecture at the University of Rome in 1971, while continuing to paint and draw. In 1979, he moved to Florence to study the works of the old Italian Masters. In 1981, Giovanni moved to Paris. He had his first exhibition in Paris at the Salon d’Automne in the Grand Palais, the temple of the impressionists in the beginning of the century. He currently lives in Paris. Lanna’s paintings have received much recognition throughout Europe.
